I've being receiving so many custom order queries every day, so I thought I would give you all an update as to how my current line-up of work is going. At this point, I still have approximately 7 months more of custom order requests from last year yet to fill. I am working my way through and drawing from the stack of requests that have been waiting, and creating as many as I can each month.

Once all of the outstanding waiting requests are filled, I will be taking a bit of time off to do some website updates, and at that time will determine when I will be open for new custom orders in the future. Whenever I have openings again, and can accept additional custom orders, I will post the news through my newsletter, Facebook, and this blog!

It has been a while since I've had cockatiels on eBay, so I picked the Lutino Cockatiel for this month's featured bird. This particular bird will always be special to me, since a lutino cockatiel was my very first bird as a child!

The cockatiels on auction for the next six days include the following: bracelet charm, choker necklace, pendant on black cord, pendant with pink heart on pink cords, magnet, pin, glass beaded bracelet, and a glass beaded necklace/earring set!

To take a break from orders once in a while, I love creating designs with whimsical birds, and I call them my "Flights of Fancy" pieces. I recently found these fun, funky, bumpy lamp work beads in beautiful blue and light purple, so I just HAD to make up some birds to match them! The clay was impressed with stamps and designs, then highlighted with silver metallic powers for a nice shimmer. Silver wire and beads accent each bird, and each bird is unique even though they are all created in the same color scheme.

The five "Flights of Fancy" necklace & earring sets on auction for the next six days include the following species loosely represented: a Macaw, two Budgies, an Umbrella Cockatoo, and an Eclectus shaped bird. There is a Buy It Now option on each of the Flight of Fancy sets, so if you want to snap one up, you won't have to wait a week for the auction to end!

I have created three unique beaded necklaces in my whimsical "Flights of Fancy" style, in shades of purple!

The birds featured are a (non-specified) parrot, a cockatiel and a Goffin's Cockatoo. Please see each auction, as there are many special details that do not show up in these preview photos!

Beautiful glass beads and amethyst stones really make these sets lovely. These would make fantastic gifts for someone who enjoys one-of-a-kind jewelry!

These necklace/earring sets are on sale on eBay for one week on auction, but please note that I have listed these with Buy It Now options! This means you can snap a set up right away if no one has bid yet, without having to wait for the auction to end!

There is also a new African Grey "Flights of Fancy" Necklace/Earring set (shown below) and matching bracelet (not pictured) in grey/silver/red/black beads available this week.

The Bird of the Month for August is another first on eBay, the White Capped Pionus. I'm offering a charm, choker, pendant, beaded bracelet and necklace/earring set. I love the colors in this necklace set, and not only glass beads are used but some semi-precious stones as well.

I went through a "pink phase" a few weeks ago, and made up a fun assortment of Flights of Fancy pieces all in shades of pink for you! There are four unique Dragonfly themed beaded necklace/earring sets in the following species: Conure, Macaw, African Grey and Eclectus. The Conure set is shown below along with some other pendants. A beaded "Laugh" pin is also listed, along with a regular female cockatiel bracelet charm.

They are all on auction for the next week on eBay!

I recently finished a custom order that was a fun challenge, something a bit different than I've done before. I had a really wonderful drawing of the customer's design to go from, so that helped a lot!

This baby cockatiel was sculpted from Super Sculpley, with a layer of Transclucent Liquid Sulpey over the eye for that "sealed up" look, and white Premo for the shell. I don't normally use paint on my pieces, but did a thin wash of highlights on the baby's body to show the itty bitty wrinkles and details.

The Bird of the Month is a bird that I've never sculpted before, the beautiful Crimson Rosella. Those of you in some parts of Australia probably see them frequently! I can only imagine having these beautiful birds wild in your backyard! There is great detail on the scalloping on the wings and back which was a fun challenge to create. There is a charm, choker, pin, pendant on cord, beaded bracelet and beaded necklace/earring set currently on auction on eBay!

I have also listed a large assortment of wild and wonderful red, white and blue creations - just in time for the 4th of July! The birds loosely represented are: African Grey, Amazon, Cockatiel, Cockatoo, Conure, Eclectus, Macaw and Parrotlet - however some could look like other species, so it's really up to your imagination! WOW, I've been busy - I listed 20 new items on auction on eBay this last week to celebrate the coming of summer! There is an assortment of bracelet charms, cell charms, charm choker necklaces and four more of the fantastic "Live Life, Love Life"/"Follow Your Heart" charm necklaces. Species represented this week are: Sun Conures, Quakers, Male Eclectus, Cockatiels, Nanday Conures, Red Lored Amazons, a Lutino Lovebird and Congo African Greys.

I also listed a Seagreen Lovebird Necklace Set, Male Eclectus Beaded Bracelet, and a colorful "recycled clay" pendant, as well as the Cockatoo set shown below.

After I've been sculpting for a while, I tend to get a collection of little odds and ends of clay that I put into a "scrap pile". When I get enough, I "recycle" the clay by squishing it all together - it's always fun to see what emerges, and the results are always unique! This Cockatoo looks really beautiful with the collection of green, garnet and amber glass beads. The Bird of the Month for August is the vibrant Sun Conure! The collection is now up for auction on eBay for the next 6 days and includes a bracelet charm, choker, pendant, pin, glass beaded bracelet, and a glass beaded necklace and earring set!

Also new on eBay this week are a selection of other species and items, so I hope you will stop by and check it out! Included are beaded bracelets in the following species: Timneh Grey, Congo Grey, male Eclectus, and female Eclectus. A Scarlet Macaw charm and Orange Winged Amazon charm are also new this week.

I have also created three glass beaded necklace/earring sets featuring the faces of the following birds: Normal Male cockatiel, Orange Winged Amazon, and a cute green Budgie/Parakeet! Another fun thing that I listed this week are a pair of earrings featuring feathers donated by my very own Killian! :)

In other news, my mom ended up having a ruptured disc in her back, but is recuperating from her surgery pretty well. It's wonderful to see her able to walk around without excrutiating pain after two months of that!

I haven't posted any pictures of my creations here lately, so here is a photo of a custom bracelet that I recently finished. More photos of this order can be seen in my Flickr album as well!

Sorry about the lack of blog updates, I've had my hands full but am happy that I could get a collection of pieces finished for the Bird of the Month for July! The species this month is the lovely Lutino Cockatiel!

The collection is now up for auction on eBay for the next 6 days and includes quite a variety of pieces, including bracelet charms, magnet, choker, pendant, two different pins, as well as two different glass bead necklace sets, and two matching beaded bracelets!

The beaded necklace set pictured above is slightly higher in price, since it is made in a different style, where each bead is wired together instead of being strung on cord.
