I happened upon these sweet charms lately, and simply couldn't resist making them up into some fun jewelry. While there is no sculpting or polymer clay in these pieces, I thought that the owl and bird themed charms might appeal to some of you! There is also a lovely Koi fish necklace & earring set that has semiprecious stones, including mossy agate. All pieces are being auctioned on eBay, ending on Monday.

Oh, I've been waiting for this day for ages! I'm incredibly excited to finally unveil the first lot of jewelry in the my new line! It is called "ARTdornments" and features antique art that I have hand sculpted polymer clay frames around, with various aged metallic finishes. Many of the one-of-a-kind pendants are beaded into unique necklaces with semi-precious stones and beautiful glass beads individually wired together. There are also some simpler styles strung on fine chain. Most of the necklaces pictured include matching earrings.

This new line has an old-fashioned feel that invokes the romantic beauty of days gone by. I've always adored past eras, including the styles of Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Nouveau artists, as well as Medieval and Renaissance themes, so a mixture of all of the above is the inspiration for this new line. In the near future I'll be creating pieces featuring some of my favorite Pre-Raphaelite images, as well as many more wonderful avian illustrations and animal themed art. I have to say that I am so in love with this particular style, more than any jewelry I've ever created!

The pieces currently for sale in the new style feature: Major Mitchell's/Leadbeaters Cockatoos, Lady with Barn Owl, Girl with Amazon, Lady with Greenwing Macaw, Lady with Bird (Unknown Species), the Garnier Paris Opera House, and an African Grey in Bronze Setting. (Grey lovers, I want to let you know that I will be listing a different Congo African Grey necklace set in an antique silver setting next month.) I plan to have at least one new ARTdornments piece to auction every month along with all of the "regular" parrot jewelry that I offer in my monthly collections. However, like all of my sculpted work, these pieces are one-of-kind, so if you see one that you really love, be sure to bid!

This is your chance to own one of my very first pieces in the new style; all of the pieces shown above are being auctioned on eBay, ending on Monday, September 29th. If anything is left afterwards, it will be sold through the new ARTdornments Etsy shop (dedicated exclusively to the new work) at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ARTdornments

For the first time ever, I had one of my necklaces modeled and professionally photographed, for the new website! I am so thrilled with the shot, isn't it lovely? Big thanks to photographer Thomas Sevcick of Lakeview Photography, in Sandy, Utah. Tom specializes in stunning nature photography, and also does wonderful portraits, as well as events. If you're in Utah and need a photographer, give him a call!

The full ARTdornments website will not officially debut until later in 2013, but you are welcome to come and take a sneak peek and see what I have up so far: www.artdornments.com

I've also set up a brand new Facebook page dedicated just to ARTdornments, at www.facebook.com/ARTdornments I'd LOVE to have you come over and "Like" it if you would like to stay up to date with this line of my work. I'll be updating the Facebook page with photos and news as this new line evolves and grows, so come on over and connect - I'd love to hear from you and get your feedback!

Do you "tweet"? I feel a little out of my element with Twitter, but have set up an account for ARTdornments: https://twitter.com/ARTdornments Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon!

The gorgeous colors of autumn are surrounding me and providing endless inspiration, so it's no wonder that this Flights of Fancy collection features some birds in fall and earthy colors. Each bird has several tiny sculpted leaves, as well as the word "LOVE". The birds were sculpted from shades of brown clay, with metallic gold, silver and copper highlights. All five pendants are strung on brown ribbon/cord necklaces.

The species represented from left to right are: Macaw, African Grey, Lovebird or Parrotlet, Cockatiel, and the last one could be a Brotogeris or a Lorikeet/Lory - though they are all open to whatever species YOUR imagination can see!

There is also another Phantom Face in Faux Ivory necklace on sale this week on eBay. All of the pieces are being auctioned on eBay for the next five days.

On a side note, I just received an email from eBay congratulating me on my 10 year Anniversary of being a seller! Time sure flies, it doesn't seem like very long ago that I was just getting started selling my creations online!

It seems that I've run out of my disk quota/traffic allowance for this month - which is the reason that the photos from past posts have disappeared from my blog! Sorry about this - check back on November 1st when everything should be back!
