These new creations were made using rubber stamps impressed in black clay, then highlighted with metallic pigment powders for color, and embellished with beads. They have a unique and eye catching look that is hard to capture in photos!

I've made these as magnets, which can be easily altered to also use as ornaments if you prefer. Some of the larger ones also look fantastic in my magnetic display frames as well, as wall or table art.

The birds represented resemble a Blue and Gold Macaw, Male Eclectus, Blue Headed Pionus, White Bellied Caique, Black Headed Caique, a sculpted Lovebird on a cage, and a Senegal. Tthese pieces are on eBay until Thursday. (Any unsold pieces will then be listed in my Joy Magnet Art Etsy Shop.)

What a surprise, I am still giggling over this! My "Bird Poop Jewelry" was chosen to be featured in a slideshow on the Fox Small Business website, with the topic of Bizarre Business Ideas. You can take a look at the slideshow through the following link: http://smallbusiness.foxbusiness.com/slideshow/entrepreneurs/2011/08/09/eight-bizarre-business-ideas

To celebrate, I've made a new batch of "bird poop jewelry", and have put them for sale on eBay this week! Buy It Now options are available on each piece, so you don't have to wait until the auctions are over to snap one up. There is a bracelet charm (not shown), a pin, a pendant, a pendant on cord and a magnet. The auctions end next Saturday, take a look and have a laugh! :)

Also, I had some colorful scrap clay this month, so I've whipped up a few pretty pendants! Each one-of-a-kind bird has a glossy finish. The first bird is a smaller parrot with a charm that says "Laugh", and the second is a macaw type of parrot, with the species up to your imagination, holding a charm that says "Follow your dreams"! Both necklaces have a Buy It Now option, and are on auction until next Saturday, unless the Buy It Now option is used!

The Bird of the Month for August is another first on eBay, the White Capped Pionus. I'm offering a charm, choker, pendant, beaded bracelet and necklace/earring set. I love the colors in this necklace set, and not only glass beads are used but some semi-precious stones as well.

I went through a "pink phase" a few weeks ago, and made up a fun assortment of Flights of Fancy pieces all in shades of pink for you! There are four unique Dragonfly themed beaded necklace/earring sets in the following species: Conure, Macaw, African Grey and Eclectus. The Conure set is shown below along with some other pendants. A beaded "Laugh" pin is also listed, along with a regular female cockatiel bracelet charm.

They are all on auction for the next week on eBay!

The Bird of the Month is a bird that I've never sculpted before, the beautiful Crimson Rosella. Those of you in some parts of Australia probably see them frequently! I can only imagine having these beautiful birds wild in your backyard! There is great detail on the scalloping on the wings and back which was a fun challenge to create. There is a charm, choker, pin, pendant on cord, beaded bracelet and beaded necklace/earring set currently on auction on eBay!

I have also listed a large assortment of wild and wonderful red, white and blue creations - just in time for the 4th of July! The birds loosely represented are: African Grey, Amazon, Cockatiel, Cockatoo, Conure, Eclectus, Macaw and Parrotlet - however some could look like other species, so it's really up to your imagination! You can read more about them within each listing page, so go visit this week's auctions for more details!
