Oh, I've been waiting for this day for ages! I'm incredibly excited to finally unveil the first lot of jewelry in the my new line! It is called "ARTdornments" and features antique art that I have hand sculpted polymer clay frames around, with various aged metallic finishes. Many of the one-of-a-kind pendants are beaded into unique necklaces with semi-precious stones and beautiful glass beads individually wired together. There are also some simpler styles strung on fine chain. Most of the necklaces pictured include matching earrings.
This new line has an old-fashioned feel that invokes the romantic beauty of days gone by. I've always adored past eras, including the styles of Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Nouveau artists, as well as Medieval and Renaissance themes, so a mixture of all of the above is the inspiration for this new line. In the near future I'll be creating pieces featuring some of my favorite Pre-Raphaelite images, as well as many more wonderful avian illustrations and animal themed art. I have to say that I am so in love with this particular style, more than any jewelry I've ever created!
The pieces currently for sale in the new style feature: Major Mitchell's/Leadbeaters Cockatoos, Lady with Barn Owl, Girl with Amazon, Lady with Greenwing Macaw, Lady with Bird (Unknown Species), the Garnier Paris Opera House, and an African Grey in Bronze Setting. (Grey lovers, I want to let you know that I will be listing a different Congo African Grey necklace set in an antique silver setting next month.) I plan to have at least one new ARTdornments piece to auction every month along with all of the "regular" parrot jewelry that I offer in my monthly collections. However, like all of my sculpted work, these pieces are one-of-kind, so if you see one that you really love, be sure to bid!
This is your chance to own one of my very first pieces in the new style; all of the pieces shown above are being auctioned on eBay, ending on Monday, September 29th. If anything is left afterwards, it will be sold through the new ARTdornments Etsy shop (dedicated exclusively to the new work) at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ARTdornments

Hope this finds you all well, and enjoying the end of summer!
I was very tight on time this last month, so only was able to make one bird for September's Bird of the Month, which is the White Capped Pionus! I had hoped to create a few more pieces, but this species is one of the more time consuming birds to create, with many different colors, so in the end I only was able to make one.
This beaded necklace/earring set is on auction for the next 5 days on eBay, ending on Thursday! In addition, there are a few other necklaces on eBay this week. One is a new "Serendipity" pendant on eBay, this time in a pretty mix of maroon, red, white and blue, with ribbon cord necklace. There is also a cute Umbrella Cockatoo necklace. All of this month's auctions are on eBay for the next 5 days on eBay.

I've come up with a new name for my "scrap clay birds" - Serendipity Parrots! The whole thing began as a "happy accident" a few years ago when I smooshed up a blob of many tiny bits of scrap clay, and realized that the outcome was so striking, and I've been enjoying making them ever since. I never know how they will turn out, and the result is always unique! I usually get enough "junk clay" at the end of the month to make a few birds, but I've been extra busy the past month, so there were a lot more clay bits to play with!
This time however, I had a little trouble with the gloss finish on a few pieces, and had some tiny air bubbles. They are not very noticeable, and they do not affect the durability or wear of the pieces. However, being a bit of a perfectionist, I'm not completely happy with them, so I'm starting the bids lower than normal on these three pieces, which resemble a Conure, Ringneck, and Cockatoo
There are also two cockatiel pieces on eBay this week, a normal face choker, and a Flights of Fancy necklace in lime green/grey/black, below. All pieces are are on auction for the next 7 days on eBay, ending on Friday the 17th!

Happy New Year! I hope that 2012 has started out brightly for you!
I originally had another species in mind for January, but through an interesting twist, the Bird of the Month seemed determined to be a Canary instead! They were a fun change to create, and I am hoping that there are a few canary lovers among you out there!
There are a beaded necklace and earring set, a small pendant on cord, and a bracelet charm all on auction for one week on eBay!
In addition, a new Flights of Fancy styled Cockatoo necklace is currently on auction on eBay for the following week. There are also a new "bird poop" magnet (shown below) and pin on auction for the next 7 days!
