Have you heard about the Parrot Lover's Cruise? It's the first fund raising cruise to benefit parrots in the wild, and takes place from Oct. 24th through Nov. 1st, with stops in Cozumel, Mexico, as well as Limon, Costa Rica and Colon, Panama. It sounds like it will be a fantastic experience for bird lovers, not only with the exciting excursions like the Rainforest Walk, but also with several speakers giving bird related lectures while on board, as well as some fun raffles! I won't be going, but I will be donating some jewelry, so if you will be on board, check it out!
For more information including speakers & topics, itinerary, pricing and all other details, check out the website: www.parrotloverscruise.com

In honor of Kaleena's "hatch-day" coming up on May 1st, I've created a special Eclectus Flights of Fancy necklace/earring set. To view more photos and details, please go to my EBAY STORE.
I've also made some non-polymer clay jewelry that you might enjoy! I have listed several pairs of beautiful feather earrings with some absolutely stunning glass beads. Kaleena was kind enough to donate the feathers after her recent feather clipping. :) These will be on eBay for the next week.

Here is part two of my vacation post, please scroll below to read the first part! :)
These charming conures at Las Caletas just stole my heart; they seemed to love all of the attention, and posed so nicely for me!
In Mexico they are called Orange Fronted Parakeets, but are more commonly known in the USA as Half-moon Conures or Orange-fronted Conures.
I don't want to leave out Tango, the adorable and extremely active squirrel monkey! He was too quick for me to get good photos, but was fun to watch!
Hope you enjoyed these vacation photos!
Regarding my parrot jewelry, some of you noticed that I didn't list any new creations last month and were wondering what was up....well, February was a super busy month getting ready to go on my trip while keeping up with custom orders as well, so unfortunately I didn't have time to make a Bird of the Month last month - but this month's collection will be posted very shortly, and was heavily inspired by my new feathered friends in Mexico! :)

Last month I went on the first real vacation I've had in years, what fun! It was 7 days of sheer bliss on a ship to the Mexican Riviera, and let me tell you, I didn't want to get off! I simply cannot even put into words how fabulous it was! It was fantastic to get away from work/computer/emails/phone and just watch the waves go by. The sunrises and sunsets were beyond spectacular! I've never been on a cruise, so it was quite an amazing experience!
Here I am during the "Muster Drill" when we all had to try on our life vests and learn the safety drill. I'm happy to report that I did not need to use the life vest - and we didn't hit any icebergs either. ;)
One of the highlights of my holiday was the time spent in Puerto Vallarta visiting with the free flighted Military Macaws and Half Moon Conures on a beautiful island paradise called "The Hideaway at Las Caletas". Maybe if I happen to become a billionaire someday I can buy the island and retire there...well, I can dream. :)
It was thrilling to see such happy birds in a natural environment. They do go into cages at night for protection, but are free to fly around the island during day, where they have an abundance of branches to destroy, as well as typical bird toys at the main interactive area.
There were about 20 majestic Military Macaws at the island, and you could hear them everywhere - as those of you with macaws in your home know, they are LOUD! I enjoyed holding one and interacting a bit, he was trained to take treats out of your mouth!
My blog is out of space for this entry, so will continue with the rest of the photos in a separate post, so scroll above!
