Our neighbors have a lovely plum tree and kindly shared the harvest with us, and WOW - they are wonderful! I managed to get Kaleena to pose for a few seconds with the yummy treats! :)

It is hard to believe my little baby is already six years old! Kaleena (nicknamed Kiki in case you were wondering) is such a cuddlebug and sweetheart - although she wasn't much into having a party today as she is back to being in egg laying mode. However, she take a little time out to have some of her "bird-day cake" that her grandma made especially for her today! (THANKS MOM!!!) It was quite a hit!

We just received a great assortment of yummy goodies from Heidi at http://shops.ittybittybirdiebites.com/Heidi/ kindly given for Killian and Kaleena to try out. Well, as you can see, they enjoyed their birdie bread made from "Fid Flour" and the "Itty Bitty Birdy Bites" so much that they didn't even take their heads out of their food bowls to look at the camera! :) With the fresh, human grade ingredients and wonderful mix of flavors, it's no surprise that they are loving it! Thanks so much Heidi!

Hard to believe it is already Easter, especially since we had SNOW yesterday. I managed to get Killian & Kaleena to pose for a few photos, and am sharing them with you in the Smilebox card below. (Thanks so much to my dear friend Pat for turning me onto Smilebox, it is fun!) Well, Killian, Kaleena, and I (and the dogs too) all want to wish you a wonderful holiday and Happy Spring!

I was up late last night with my sweet Eclectus girl Kaleena, who laid an egg. This is a fairly common occurrence for her, every 3 to 4 months. (The eggs are infertile since I do not breed her to Killian.) It is amazing to me that a bird of her size can produce such large eggs, although this one was a little smaller than usual. I always feel for her, it just hurts to watch her get that huge egg out! Thankfully she is perfectly healthy and has had scans and tests done to put me at ease knowing she has a healthy level of calcium and is not likely to be egg bound, but it is always a concern. Bless her heart, she is so sweet and not aggressive at all like most female Eclectus parrots when nesting, and just seems to want extra snuggles and attention during this time, and I am happy to oblige. :)
