After several months without a Bird of the Month collection, I'm thrilled to be back with some new creations for you this month! I've chosen the Senegal parrot for October, and there are three necklaces on auction on eBay, ending on Friday.

In addition, there are an assortment of other new pieces on auction this week, including an abstract silver swirl pendant, a Serendipity ("scrap clay") parrot, two Congo African Grey necklaces (one Fall themed), and another owl pendant. To see all of the pieces on sale this week, visit my eBay auction listings here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/parrotjewelry/m.html?_ipg=50&_from&_nkw&_armrs=1&_sop=10"

I recently had a request on Facebook to create a Vasa parrot, and it's not a bird species that I've ever had an order for before, so I was fascinated to read about how unique they are among parrots. Not only does the female actually change her feather colors during breeding season, but she molts her head feathers out, and the skin on her head turns yellow!

So while I had another bird in mind for this month's Bird of the Month, I ended up creating the Vasa instead, after being inspired by all of the photos that I found while reading about them! It's always fun to sculpt a species that I've never created before!

In addition, there are several round pendants on sale this week, including two mini-pendants (conure & macaw) starting at just $9.00! I created another owl pendant with Swarovski eyes, and a new design that has a Caique type of parrot face. All of the jewelry is being auctioned on eBay for five days, ending on Tuesday, July 30.

I know there are a lot of you who are anxious to be able to place custom orders again, and I want to thank you for your patience and understanding with the health issues that I'm still experiencing. I had planned to resume accepting a limited number of orders this month, but ended up not feeling well enough. So, we'll see how things are in August, and hopefully I'll be able to get back to custom work then!

This was a fun experiment! I played around with "faux leather" effects last month, and made this unique parrot pendant, which I based on an Eclectus shape.

Here is one of my faux ceramic "test" pieces which I decided to string up on a simple string necklace - starting bid is just $9.00!

This pretty necklace set features a Flights of Fancy parrot in turquoise green (which could be an Amazon, Caique, Pionus, or whatever your imagination can see!) on copper chain with some gorgeous accent beads.

I've also listed more magnets from my Joy Magnet Affirmative Art line on eBay! I am starting bids off lower than what they will be listed for in my Etsy shop, so if you want to snag a great deal, be sure to take a look! I only had room to show one here, so be sure to take a look at all of my eBay listings to see everything!

All of the auctions are running for 5 days, and end on Tuesday, July 30th, on eBay.

Yesterday marked the first day of summer here in the USA, with the 4th of July just around the corner, so I've created an assortment of red and blue birds for you in honor of Independence Day! The Bird of the Month is the Red (Moluccan) Lory. There is a full bodied pendant, a lory face choker, and a beautifully beaded necklace and earring set.

Earlier this month I dabbled a bit in creating faux ceramics in polymer clay, which was really fun! I plan to play around more with this technique in the future. There is a faux ceramic Budgie and a Cockatoo (could be a Goffin's or Ducorps, what do you think?), on auction this week. All of the jewelry is being auctioned eBay for five days, ending on Thursday, June 27, unless they are ended early with Buy It Now!

In addition, I am doing another Giveaway! Enter to win the red Faux Ceramic bird necklace shown below, on my website at: www.parrotjewelry.com/giveaway.html The contest runs through July 13th and is open to my newsletter members in the USA & Canada - good luck!

I've made another "scrap clay" pendant, this time in red, white, and blue! This bird resembles a macaw, and has a glossy finish.

I gave myself a little challenge to come up with a new way to use some broken and scratched beads, and the bird on the right is the result!. I turned each bead around so the "good side" was facing up, and then surrounded each glass bead with clay, with a silver metallic finish. I was going for a Congo African Grey, can you tell?

I also have an assortment of about a dozen new magnets from my Joy Magnet Affirmative Art line, and while I don't normally auction these on eBay, I decided to give it a try this month! I am starting bids off lower than what they will be listed for in my Etsy shop, so if you want to snag a great deal, be sure to take a look!

All pieces shown here (PLUS more that I just didn't have space to show) are running for 5 days, and end on June 27th - unless they end early with Buy It Now!
