I recently tried my hand at making molds of some of my sculpts, and they came out great! As a result, I'm creating a new line of molded pieces, and my plan is to offer a new species each month, if time allows! If you like the look of these pendants and want to purchase one in your favorite bird, drop me a note, or post on my Facebook page and let me know what species you would like to see me create and offer next!
This month, I started with an Eclectus and an African Grey, and created pendants from my new molds in a variety of finishes. They are all made from polymer clay, but have the look of Faux Ivory, Antiqued Silver, and Antiqued Pewter, which you can see above. (I also made several magnets in Faux Ivory which are not shown here.)
Because these pendants are made from a mold, I can offer them at lower prices than my one-of-a-kind sculpts. However, each one is still handmade, so will be individually created and will vary slightly from piece to piece. Most of these new medallion pendants are being sold without chain/cord, although I have several options if you prefer to have a necklace included with the pendant. I also created one of the African Grey pendants in a glossy black with metallic gold highlights (above right), on a romantic necklace with a some glass beads and matching earrings.
All of the pieces are on auction on eBay and end on Wednesday, December 11th: http://www.ebay.com/sch/parrotjewelry/m.html?_ipg=50&_from&_nkw&_armrs=1&_sop=10"

Yesterday marked the first day of summer here in the USA, with the 4th of July just around the corner, so I've created an assortment of red and blue birds for you in honor of Independence Day! The Bird of the Month is the Red (Moluccan) Lory. There is a full bodied pendant, a lory face choker, and a beautifully beaded necklace and earring set.
Earlier this month I dabbled a bit in creating faux ceramics in polymer clay, which was really fun! I plan to play around more with this technique in the future. There is a faux ceramic Budgie and a Cockatoo (could be a Goffin's or Ducorps, what do you think?), on auction this week. All of the jewelry is being auctioned eBay for five days, ending on Thursday, June 27, unless they are ended early with Buy It Now!
In addition, I am doing another Giveaway! Enter to win the red Faux Ceramic bird necklace shown below, on my website at: www.parrotjewelry.com/giveaway.html The contest runs through July 13th and is open to my newsletter members in the USA & Canada - good luck!

It's Budgie time! I rarely offer budgies on eBay, since these are one of the most time consuming birds to make, but last month when I was finishing up some custom orders with budgies, I decided to go ahead and create a few for you! There is a full bodied budgie, a budgie face, and a "Kawaii styled" budgie. The budgies are being auctioned eBay for five days, ending on Wednesday, May 22.
I recently had fun playing around with an attempt to recreate jade and rose quartz in polymer clay! I've been working with polymer clay for nearly 20 years now, and the versatility this amazing stuff still continues to astound me. There is no end to the different looks that can be achieved with it!
There are four Faux Jade pendants featuring an Amazon, Cockatiel, Macaw and Eclectus. They are strung on chain with an antiqued gold look. There are three Faux Rose Quartz pendants featuring a Lovebird/Parrotlet, a Conure, and an African Grey, on silver chains. All of the pendants have a high gloss finish. (All white splotches on the birds are just light reflections!)
The necklaces are all being auctioned on eBay for five days, ending on Wednesday, May 22.

What a colorful batch of Serendipity parrots I have for you this month! I ended up with a lot of scrap clay recently, and while I had absolutely NO intention of making so many "scrap clay pendants", they simply decided they had to be made I guess! So here are 13 incredibly unique parrot pendants, in beautiful spring colors, with bits of silver leafing adding some sparkle!
The Serendipity pendants for sale this month could represent a wide variety of species, it is really up to your imagination - however I did base some of the shapes on: African Greys, Macaw, Cockatoos, Conure, Budgie, Parrotlet, Eclectus, Quaker, Amazon, Cockatiel, and more. See if you can pick your favorite species out!
The necklaces are all being auctioned on eBay for five days, ending on Wednesday, May 1st. However, I have offered a Buy It Now option on each of these pieces, so if you can't wait for the auctions to end, you are welcome to go snap one up before the bids start!

Oh, I've been waiting for this day for ages! I'm incredibly excited to finally unveil the first lot of jewelry in the my new line! It is called "ARTdornments" and features antique art that I have hand sculpted polymer clay frames around, with various aged metallic finishes. Many of the one-of-a-kind pendants are beaded into unique necklaces with semi-precious stones and beautiful glass beads individually wired together. There are also some simpler styles strung on fine chain. Most of the necklaces pictured include matching earrings.
This new line has an old-fashioned feel that invokes the romantic beauty of days gone by. I've always adored past eras, including the styles of Victorian, Edwardian, and Art Nouveau artists, as well as Medieval and Renaissance themes, so a mixture of all of the above is the inspiration for this new line. In the near future I'll be creating pieces featuring some of my favorite Pre-Raphaelite images, as well as many more wonderful avian illustrations and animal themed art. I have to say that I am so in love with this particular style, more than any jewelry I've ever created!
The pieces currently for sale in the new style feature: Major Mitchell's/Leadbeaters Cockatoos, Lady with Barn Owl, Girl with Amazon, Lady with Greenwing Macaw, Lady with Bird (Unknown Species), the Garnier Paris Opera House, and an African Grey in Bronze Setting. (Grey lovers, I want to let you know that I will be listing a different Congo African Grey necklace set in an antique silver setting next month.) I plan to have at least one new ARTdornments piece to auction every month along with all of the "regular" parrot jewelry that I offer in my monthly collections. However, like all of my sculpted work, these pieces are one-of-kind, so if you see one that you really love, be sure to bid!
This is your chance to own one of my very first pieces in the new style; all of the pieces shown above are being auctioned on eBay, ending on Monday, September 29th. If anything is left afterwards, it will be sold through the new ARTdornments Etsy shop (dedicated exclusively to the new work) at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ARTdornments
