It's been quite a few years since I have made any Lory or Lorikeet species, and I was needing some new photos for my website, so I picked the Rainbow/Green Naped Lorikeet as the Bird of the Month! In addition, I created a few other Lories that I've never made before! It is incredible how very many lorikeet species and subspecies there are, all of which are so beautiful, I had a hard time picking just a few!

The jewelry on auction for the next THREE DAYS include the following: Rainbow bracelet charm, Rainbow choker necklace, Rainbow glass beaded bracelet, Rainbow pendant, and a Rainbow glass beaded necklace/earring set! There is also a Scaly-breasted Lorikeet glass beaded necklace/earring set, and a pair of Chattering Lory charm dangle earrings!

Besides the Lorikeets, there are also some other new pieces, including the Green and Yellow Christmas Budgie shown below, a blue Budgie not shown, and several new humorous "bird poop" items!

Earlier this year I was introduced to the magnificent Red-Tailed Black Cockatoos of Australia by one of my wonderful ornithologist customers! I had never seen photos of them before, or even heard of them before for that matter, since they are very rare here in the US. I was itching to sculpt something new that I've never created before, so I chose the male of this species for the October Bird of the Month!

I've got the blues - Blue Macaws that is! The bird of the month is the Blue and Gold Macaw, and in addition I've created an assortment of other special blue macaws, including a Hyacinth Macaw Choker and Beaded Necklace Set, a Spix's Macaw Pendant, and a Blue Throated Macaw Charm and Beaded Necklace Set.

Three Goffin's Cockatoos and a new Congo African Grey Pendant are on sale in auctions this week on eBay! There is also a new one of a kind jewelry set features a vibrant parrot that was hand sculpted from leftover scraps of clay, all swirled together. I love making these "scrap clay birds", you never know what they will look like!
