Wow, I can't believe January is coming to an end already! I hope you all have had a wonderful start to the New Year! The month has been rather eventful, and time got away from me. The Bird of the Month for January is the Toco Toucan, and there is a beaded necklace with striking glass beads, and matching earrings. This month's jewelry is on auction for five days, ending on February 4th.

I'm happy to let you know that I have THREE new species added to my new line of molded medallion pendants! This month, I am debuting the following species, on sale on eBay: Aracari/Toucan, Conure, and Umbrella Cockatoo! There are three pendants of each species, in each of the color finishes which include pewter, antique ivory, and antique gold. Black cord necklaces are available for $3.00 additional if you want a necklace added, just let me know before you send payment. To see all of the pieces on auction, visit my eBay listings here:"

In addition, I have stocked my Etsy shop with more of the medallions in the African Grey and Eclectus styles (not shown here), check them out at:

I'm not able to take regular custom orders right now, but will be updating my website with new custom order pricing for the new year throughout the next month or two. Once I have the website updates finished, I will put the order form up and let you know when I am ready for custom orders again!

I recently had a request on Facebook to create a Vasa parrot, and it's not a bird species that I've ever had an order for before, so I was fascinated to read about how unique they are among parrots. Not only does the female actually change her feather colors during breeding season, but she molts her head feathers out, and the skin on her head turns yellow!

So while I had another bird in mind for this month's Bird of the Month, I ended up creating the Vasa instead, after being inspired by all of the photos that I found while reading about them! It's always fun to sculpt a species that I've never created before!

In addition, there are several round pendants on sale this week, including two mini-pendants (conure & macaw) starting at just $9.00! I created another owl pendant with Swarovski eyes, and a new design that has a Caique type of parrot face. All of the jewelry is being auctioned on eBay for five days, ending on Tuesday, July 30.

I know there are a lot of you who are anxious to be able to place custom orders again, and I want to thank you for your patience and understanding with the health issues that I'm still experiencing. I had planned to resume accepting a limited number of orders this month, but ended up not feeling well enough. So, we'll see how things are in August, and hopefully I'll be able to get back to custom work then!

A month or two ago, I looked at a book about polymer clay mosaics, and was instantly in love. I knew I had to try making some of my own, so I pulled out my clay, and got on quite a roll! I ended up spending days and days making hundreds of unique little tiles. I found it to be a wonderful way to mix and match a wide variety of techniques, and had so much fun! Needless to say - I'm utterly hooked!! I've already made several pieces as gifts, and am excited to be offering this Female Eclectus as the first mosaic for sale on eBay.

The interior mosaic section measures 8x10, within a decorative black wall hanging frame. Each little tile is unique, and several have words or phrases, including "Love, Hope, Bird Friend, Eclectus Parrot, Fly, Sweet, Happiness, Adore, How Beautiful it is to Be Alive". The sculpted parrot was made without molds, and is adorned with a Swarovski crystal eye, glass leaves and a jeweled floral adornment. The piece took so many hours to complete that I simply lost track of counting, and the starting bid reflects just a portion of the time that went into it. The eBay auction ends on Thursday, however there IS a BUY IT NOW option, so you can snap it up immediately if you don't want to wait for the auction to end! (One a bid is placed, the Buy it Now option disappears.)

Want to see more of my mosaics? I've just created a new photo folder on Facebook with pictures of the other mosaics that I've created so far:

I am hoping to be ready to return to accepting custom orders again in another month or two, and when I do, I may take requests for custom mosaics at that time! Let me know if you would be interested in one!

Happy Halloween! I hope you are enjoying fall as much as I am! The trees are in full color here, and I love watching the ever changing works of living art right outside my studio windows.

The Bird of the Month necklace is a holiday themed set, and features a Lutino Cockatiel perched on a Halloween pumpkin. The necklace is strung with glass bead and handmade clay "candy corn" beads, with matching earrings! There is also a Lutino Cockatiel bracelet charm, with a glossy finish.

Like last month, I had hoped to create more pieces in the Bird of the Month species, but custom orders have kept me so busy! There are still a few openings left for VIP/Rush custom orders before the holidays though. (Keep in mind that the VIP/Rush Custom Orders are double the regular cost, but do get your order worked in ASAP, without having to wait for the chance to potentially be picked for the monthly custom order drawing.) For more information, see the following page on my website:

All of this month's pieces are on auction for the next 5 days on eBay, ending on Tuesday!

The bright colors of summer always make me think of Sun Conures - one of my favorite vibrant birds to sculpt! This Bird of the Month collection is larger than usual this time, with a magnet and pair of post earrings! I rarely ever offer earrings on eBay, so if you've been waiting for some, don't miss this chance!

On auction are a magnet, bracelet charm, charm choker, post backed earrings, pendant, and beaded necklace/earring set. All of the pieces are on auction for the next 7 days on eBay, ending on Friday the 17th!

From now until January I will be cutting back on the number of custom order requests that I draw in each month's custom order "lottery drawing". Unfortunately I'll only be able to draw one or two a month (from each month's "pool") until after the holidays. Hard to believe, but the custom gift rush has begun, and I have to give priority to the increasing number of VIP/Rush orders.

In addition, I am busy developing a new line of jewelry that I'm really excited about! Hopefully in a month or two I'll be able to give you a sneak peek!

So, while this means your chances of having your custom order request in the monthly lottery will be reduced until the new year, you are always welcome to place a VIP/Rush order if you would like to have a custom order accepted and worked in! VIP orders do cost more than the regular custom orders, but instead of waiting for your chance in the monthly drawing, the VIP orders get worked in ASAP. Please note that I will only be accepting a limited number of VIP/Rush Custom Orders each month, so if you are serious about having a custom piece created in time for Christmas, it is important that you place your order by the end of September.
